Aside from Finnish Mosins, South American contract Mausers are my primary Collection focus. About 18 months ago, I was fortunate enough to acquire a Vz32 made for Peru in the original 7.65x53. Československá zbrojovka made only 5,000 Vz32s for Peru. Last week, I added an all-matching Peruvian Model 1935 short rifle to the collection. It is basically identical to the Vz32. FN made about 30,000 short rifles and 5,000 carbines for Peru. Most of the short rifles encountered have been converted to 30-06, so finding one in the original 7.65x53 is quite uncommon. Mine also came with a sling that is either a Vz24 sling or something made for/adopted by Peru for either the Vz32 or the Model 1935, and is also quite uncommon. This rifle would’ve been blued when it left the factory, but these were ridden pretty hard so it’s not surprising that almost none of the blueing remains.
