I fired mine down a "hallway" and it was LOUD, my ears were ringing for quite a while, but at least i know what it will be like in my house

Mine occured in a decent sized room. From behind the muzzle - it rung my bell for sure, had the ringing for at least 30 to 45 seconds. But it was bearable - wouldn't WANT to do it again, but if I HAD to - I could live with it.

I can see why SCAR recommends suppressors for HD in a whole new light after that experience.

SCAR, do ou use hollow point .223's? I've also read about using an AR for home defense. Seems to be a good choice, considering I live in a town home.
Better and safer ammo than HP is frangible bullets. Barnes makes an LE/M 55g frangible bullet that is the best to prevent over-penetration. Also a 53g Match Burner frangible for competition shooters.
