Where and when was it said? Was this the entire quote or just the heart of the matter? If Beto said this, I definitely oppose it, and in order to argue against it I need to know where and when it was printed or quoted. Otherwise it's just another he said/she said situation.

I wasn't part of the audience of millions when O'Rourke made his ill-advised remark. That's why I asked. It was a relatively simple question so I didn't think it would rub anyone the wrong way.

I don’t think it rubbed anyone the wrong way. It’s just that it was widely reported on countless outlets starting seconds after he said it, so thought maybe you were doubting folks here who reported it in this thread, which was a head-scratcher.
