Handgun Roster help... Are variants included?

Looking at a Rock Island "Tac Ultra". Looking at the roster, there are some models listed but not the one I want. However, the generic name of the models are also listed.... Confusing! See below:

Model: 1911 Tactical
Model Number: 1911 A1 FS TAC(51431) MATCH TACTICAL 2011, 1911 TACTICAL, 1911 TACTICAL II FS, 2011 TACTICAL, 2012 TACTICAL, TAC ULTRA FS 2011 (51961) -M 1911 A-1, TAC ULTRA FSHC (51567) (45 ACP)

If the pistol falls under the model, does the model# matter?

And, if I buy it and it is not approved, assuming the FFL holds it and someone submits the paperwork?

typically the interested pRty submits the paperwork.

I have looked at some other make pistols. The listings start out very specific then become more broadly encompassing. Probably as they see additional models submitted are really nothing more than variations of the the original listings.

Yes, the model number matters. If they don't match, it can't be transferred to you by the FFL

I contacted the Roster Board today and talked to Rachel. She was very helpful and found out the pistol I want is not approved. So, I submitted a Petition! She was helpful on that front too!

Learned this the hard way a few years back. GP100 variant sat with the dealer for months waiting for the particular model to be added to the roster.

Depends on how the Roster entry was originally written , and how model/ name happy the mfg gets .

Fast approval!!! I got the approval back today and it will be on the list in January.. Guess what I am getting next?!?!

I assume this was for the Rock Island 51679? If so, I see it on the roster now. Much appreciated as I was looking into picking one up
