received email tonight from nationalgunrights.org Dudley Brown.

Christmas has come early for gun grabbers like Dianne Feinstein.

Yesterday afternoon, the Republican controlled House of Representatives passed the MASSIVE Feinstein-backed expansion of the Brady-NICS Gun Control Database.

By a vote of 232-194 1, ALL of the anti-gun provisions of H.R. 4477 (and then some) were added to H.R.38, the National Reciprocity bill.

Despite calls from NAGR members and supporters like you, Paul Ryan and the Republican leadership went on to RAM the combined bill through, and now it heads to the Senate.

    Please call your U.S. Senators:

*** Sen. Ben Cardin can be reached at (202) 224-4524

*** Sen. Chris Van Hollen can be reached at (202) 224-4654

*** The Congressional Switchboard is 202-224-3121

Urge them to VOTE AGAINST S.2135 -- the “Feinstein-Cornyn” version of the Brady-NICS Gun Control Expansion Scheme.

The good news is Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY), the chairman of the House Second Amendment Caucus, spent all week exposing this gun control scheme.

Thankfully, Massie was joined by a handful of Republicans like Congressmen Justin Amash (R-MI) and Louie Gohmert (R-TX) in voting pro-gun yesterday. 2

Please take a moment to thank these lawmakers for recognizing this Washington-swamp scheme for what it is -- gun control.

With the pressure they were facing to “compromise”, it took courage to stand up to anti-gun leadership in both parties and vote on the side of gun owners.

Now, all attention turns to the Senate.

With your help, this gun control nonsense can still be stopped in the Senate before it reaches President Trump.

So I hope you’ll take action once again.

    Please call your U.S. Senators

Then, when you’re done, sign your EMERGENCY FAX PETITION against this Feinstein-backed gun control scheme!

I hope you’ll make these calls right away.

According to a report on C-Span yesterday, Senator John Cornyn - the #2 ranking Senate Republican - is declaring National Reciprocity DEAD in the Senate. 3

If true, it would confirm they never had any intention of passing Reciprocity into law in the first place!

The only thing Cornyn wants to pass is the gun control bill (S.2135) he’s sponsoring with rabid gun grabber Dianne Feinstein.

Of course, as I’ve been warning you, the gun control provisions in Feinstein-Cornyn are all aimed at stripping gun rights from law-abiding Americans without due process.

This new bill FORCES every state to keep meticulous records of gun owners via the ATF, and then mandates every state hand over their records to Big Brother... or else face the consequences.

Federal agencies will continue denying gun rights to veterans and could once again strip Social Security recipients of their Second Amendment rights.

Most dangerously, it allows NON-COURTs to “adjudicate” away someone’s Second Amendment Rights without trial.

We’re talking about “boards and commissions” stacked with anti-gun Obama-era bureaucrats, armed with MORE power and MORE money to dump MORE names of law-abiding Americans into the BRADY-NICS gun control database.

The Feinstein-Cornyn package is nothing but a gun control “super database.”

With pressure mounting against the Feinstein-Cornyn bill from NAGR, Breitbart, Gun Owners of America, and others, combined with a slew of deadlines before Christmas, the clock is ticking.

In order to meet those deadlines, and in desperate attempt to get gun owners like you off his back. . .

. . . reports are flying that Senator John Cornyn is looking for a way to pass Feinstein’s gun control bill FAST, and WITHOUT an on-the-record vote!

I’m afraid those reports were all but solidified in yesterday’s Senate Judiciary Committee meeting.

With NAGR Staff in attendance, we can report that the committee hearing, chaired by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), amounted to a gun control love fest.

Not only did they bring up the Feinstein-Cornyn anti-gun bill but they brought up other gun control initiatives too, including a ban on scores of firearms components.3

Trump said there will no Second Amendment infringements, NONE, during his presidency.

This was said for eighteen solid months on the campaign trail.

For this bill to become law, the President has to sign it.

 I understand. Just shows how corrupt the deep state congress is willing to go. Don't matter about political affiliation anymore.

Are they willing to pass immoral and unethical laws??? 'sarcasm'

I didn’t see anything alarming. Maybe I missed it?

I went and read the text of S.2135. I'm seeing requirements for Federal Agencies, States, and Indian Tribal governments to be in-compliance with submitting information to the NICS database.

I did not see "database of all gun owners," nor did I see new "non-court adjudication." They do, however, reference 18USC922 (g) and (n), which is already on the books, regarding which records are to be submitted to the NICS database (which is basically criminals, addicts, fugitives, mental-defectives, dishonorable discharge, etc.)

I'll go read it again (again,) but right now I'm not feeling teh OMG.

Pretty much my take. There is some funding for domestic violence but nothing extrajudicial that I can see.

I’ll get mad and call my Senators too, as soon as I hear what I’m supposed to get mad about. I’m a bit under the weather today so maybe I’m just kinda dense right now, but I’m not seeing the issue. Except for just another damn law that us as law abiding firearm owners must continually endure, that is. National reciprocity is a good thing, right? Agreed though, with Feinstein’s name anywhere near it, it’s gotta be bad for us somehow.

good luck calling any MD Senator. You can talk until you're blue in the face and all they will see is the Agenda. No Democrat will deviate from it. They are much stronger willed than Republicans. They stick to the Agenda at all costs. Have to give them credit for that. I wish the Republicans were half as strong willed. Maybe something would get done.

FACT CHECK: Rep. Thomas Massie Spreading Misinformation About Comprehensive Self-Defense Legislation Pending in Congress

    https://www.nraila.org/articles/201...-self-defense-legislation-pending-in-congress

In a recent Facebook Post, Congressman Thomas Massie (KY-4) included several inaccurate statements about H.R. 4477, the Fix-NICS bill. Below are some facts to set the record straight:

CLAIM: “The bill will also advance former President Obama’s agenda of pressuring every branch of the administration (such as the Veteran’s Administration) to submit thousands of more names to the NICS background check database to deny gun purchases.”

FACT: The bill requires that federal agencies submit the names of anyone who is already prohibited by law from possessing a firearm to the NICS background check database. This differs from former President Obama’s efforts, in which he attempted to administratively create new categories of individuals who were prohibited from possessing a firearm. H.R. 4477, by contrast, is aimed squarely at individuals like the perpetrator of the recent murders in Texas, who should have been reported to NICS because of his disqualifying criminal history.

CLAIM: “The bill is being rammed through, without a hearing, in a very nontransparent process, and it will be passed by attaching it to the popular concealed carry reciprocity bill which already has enough votes to pass on its own.”

FACT: The bill went through a very thorough and public markup session of its own. And like the concealed carry reciprocity bill, the Fix NICS bill would also have enough votes to pass on its own.

CLAIM: “It spends over half a billion dollars to collect more names to include in a list of people who will never be allowed to own a firearm.”

FACT: The bill incentivizes states to transmit the records of individuals who, under current law, are already prohibited from possessing a firearm. It does not create new categories of restriction.

CLAIM: “It compels administrative agencies, not just courts, to adjudicate your second amendment rights.”

FACT: Since 1994, administrative agencies have been required to report individuals who are prohibited under current law from possessing a firearm to NICS. Fix-NICS merely adds additional layers of transparency and accountability to the process, as a well as a new 60-day deadline for the government to resolve claims of records that have been erroneously included in NICS.

One thing I do believe is true, senate is planning to only pass fix nics and leave reciprocity hanging in the wind and this was all just a dog and pony show to placate the gun owning voting block. "See we are with you and need your help to vote out more democrats"

The liberals are all to happy to point out when some nut job passed the "Background Check" then starts shooting people as a reason for more gun laws. They don't point out they also stone wall the transfer of information, particularly of "nut jobs", to the NICS check system because of "privacy" issues.
