I just started loading .357 and much to my surprise, when I was measuring the "once fired" brass that I had on hand, it was 1.24". All of my reloading references say that the proper length is between 1.28" and 1.29". Has anyone else experienced this?

Leverevolution brass. It's shorter by design because of the flex tip bullets that Hornady loads in it.

    Yep.

CombatAK, this is the same issue you saw with your Hornady LE 45-70 cases. The reloads you built looked fine and shot OK this morning.

Moving forward, I'd recommend using standard length cases as you learn to reload 357 mag rounds. I have plenty on hand. Next Hooligan range trip I'll bring you some.

Those were standard pistol rounds, not LeveRevolution. They were originally 158gr FP XTP. I still have the original box. I will not sweat it though as they were just fine. It just made me wonder if ALL of Hornadys cases were short?

It was once fired and then resized. I still have a couple of the unfired factory cartridges and they are short as well. It is no big deal now that I know that I have reloaded and shot them safely. No bulging or primer issues or splitting. These are NOT being shot from a revolver, they are being shot through a pump rifle.
