I'm mulling over getting another AR before things go completely to worms...I'm considering either a LaRue OBR with an 18 inch barrel, or a Fulton Armory FAR-15 Phantom. I know LaRue has an outstanding reputation, but I own a Fulton, and it's pretty nice. Opinions?

Fulton uses commercial stocks and tubes; however you also get a Fulton house brand barrel made by Krieger which is a plus. I have a Fulton built carbine, the fit and finish are very good, and they lapp the trigger to improve the break.

These guys dont cut corners, however they are more well known for their M14s and AR10 style guns than FAR-15s...

where are you going to find a LaRue?

What he said. LaRue won't even officially quote turn times but unofficially they're at least a year right now.

You could pay a serious premium for a BCM lower, then try snagging a BCM upper at regular cost.

BCM uppers are coming in sporadically and they're normal pricing when they do come in. Lowers are tougher to find without paying $700 or so on GB though.

I have a Larue Tactical OBR 5.56 (16" barrel).... I purchased it last March and paid about $2400 for it. I would hate to see what they are going for now...if one can be found! Quality/finish is supperb.... I never rethought or regretted the purchase.

I looked everywhere for a noveske upper with no luck and ended up paying a big price for Daniel Defense instead.
