Although not new to shooting, I'm unfamiliar with scoped rifles and precision shooting. Is anyone aware of an absolute beginner class that covers topics such as equipment and rifle setup before getting to live fire? I don't want to be the guy holding up a class that's not designed for this type of instruction.

Come to an Appleseed clinic. We help everyone from beginners to proficient shooters. And if you want to figure out what kind of set-up works best for you, we have loaner rifles available.

Thanks! I was looking at Appleseed but wasn't sure. I could do one of these in Marriottsville for sure.

    location?

Harford County but willing to travel on weekends for quality training.

+1 for attending an appleseed event for beginner content.

peacemaker has great ranges and instructors but it will be a long haul for you to shoot there.

Here's a couple more good options if you're willing to drive to NoVA:
    1. Green Ops Defensive Carbine Level I class/clinic
    2. FPF Training Minuteman Rifle

Would strongly recommend you just grab a class where you shoot - if you need to get squared on rifle and gear before class, the instructors will help you. Or PM me with questions.

    NRA Rifle Course.

    Appleseed.

    Bang Steel.

In that order would be my recommendation.
