No surprise, the FBI's annual crime report (completed here in 2019, looking back at compiled data from the 2018 calendar year) once again paints a picture of reality that the gun grabbers would really like to avoid acknowledging.

As in the past, people being beaten and stabbed to death far exceed those killed using any sort of rifle. The killiest of killy things, the AR-15, can by definition only represent a fraction of 297 rifle-centric homicides (out of the year's 14k+ homicides). Rifles were used in 2.1% of all homicides, and not even 3% of the homicides that happened to involve firearms of any kind. Knives were used in over 1500 homicides.

I had this logical discussion with an ex co-worker she is far left. She didn't believe the figures....so I downloaded 5 years of the report put into a chart (sent her the link also)and stated we are less more to die of "feet/hands/etc" vs a rifle.

However...if you wanted to stop the most crime( you know "bang for the buck"), the largest pool BY FAR is handguns. Then I asked the question, why are we focusing all our efforts and money on something that is essentially a rounding error on these reports?

Then went onto the FSA2013 MD law changes, in particular the HQL and how murders INCREASED since that law was on the books. Criminals don't follow laws, clearly the data shows that.

All of the "gun grabbers" avoid real data like the plague....never met one that knows a "snippet" of data, just what is broadcasted on the news. And to be fair, there are lots of folks(left and right leaning) that regurgitate the news as the "bible".

This is funny to share with people too. I know it's wikipedia, but it does a fairly nice job of laying out that the AWB had no effect on crime.

To make matters more interesting: do these numbers for homicide include justifiable homicide? Meaning, for example, what about the poor guy in Georgia a couple weeks ago, who used his rifle to defend against three masked robbers in the middle of the night. Those are definitely three “rifle homicides,” but (assuming things go as expected) no crime on his part. I suspect these number might be even more interesting if they were whittled down to murder/manslaughter stats, and self defense was removed from the picture.
