Hey guys, I live here on Kent Island and am in the market for some more primers and powder. A few years ago I bought 3-4k Winchester small pistol primers for $30/K in another state. Where are you guys buying your primers and powder in state? I cant bring myself to pay an $18 hazmatt fee to ship it.

That $18 hazmat fee is easier to swallow if you buy in bulk and/or buy as a group and spread the expense.

Take a drive up to Cabelas in Christiana, DE. They usually have the off brand primers at $27 Per K. The name brands usually run @ $35 per k. If you call and talk to the reloading guy, he will tell you what they have on the shelf so you don't waste a drive.

Recently, Natchezss had a sale on both with no Hazmat fee over $100.
I ordered 1K of SR and LR primers along several pounds of primers.

Short answer, Clydes Sport Shop in Halethorpe and 2A Sales in Jessup will have primers. So will Bass Pro, and I'm sure someone will be along with places closer to your side of the Bridge.

Longer answer, you're extremely unlikely to find $30 per thousand primers in an effort to avoid the hazmat fee by buying on site at a Maryland store. As mentioned, bulk/combined purchase is your friend. Sometimes, gun shows as well, but usually in free states.

Damn, that is awesome!! I haven't even heard of them. I subscribed to their list, do they run sales like that often? I would have picked up a big chunk of stuff.

Interesting, I will give them a call. I checked out bass pro shop and the cheapest they had was $40/K which was a bit excessive imo.

Does anyone on MD Shooters ever set up group buys? :)

Midsouth Shooters and Midway also sometimes run discounted hazmat or free shipping sales. If I'm saving on one or the other I'm usually happy. Midsouth currently has a Hazmat free deal going on for some powders.

Every once in a while I see someone organizing a group buy. The trick is finding people close enough to you that it makes sense. Set one up for folks out on the Shore and see who bites.

I was able to find a few things I needed including powder at bass pro at Arundel Mills today. I prefer to buy online or at the gun shows but I do like to buy in smaller quantities as I’m working up something new..

I’ll have to check the selection at Clyde’s my folks live right up the road from there.

Miller's is an anti 2A establishment. They testified in favor of laws limiting the rights of gun owners. It is all down in writing if you want to research it. :mad54:

I would never refer someone to that place.

OP, disregard my referral to Miller’s then. I must have missed that about Miller’s.

Since a Cabela's opened up near me, I head up there once every month or two for primers. They usually have S&B primers (which are NOT off brand) for $22-$27 per thousand. They've been lowering prices on primers for a while.
