    Greetings all,

I am...closer to 50 than not. My entire life, I have been aware of firearms and have seen them used in situations overseas. My younger brother is a firearm owner, having spent 14 years in the 101st. My brother-in-law is also a firearm owner as he is a surgeon...and maintains firearms for home defense.

I had never really considered firearm ownership until my friend, a Naval Intelligence Officer, discovered he was battling cancer. My friend enjoys going to the range. As his friend...my job is simple - pursue any occasion that helps him “feel normal,” takes his mind off of cancer, and brings a smile to his face because he is doing something he enjoys.

I have since discovered that I too enjoy the discipline and mastery that comes from Range Time.

I take my 2A rights seriously. I accept that I take on much responsibility as an owner of a firearm. I have been quietly reading this forum since January...but now I proudly step forward as one of you. This past Friday, I picked up my first purchase from my FFL and spent a little time at my local range dialing in my Eotech holo sight.

I was going to ask the same thing...Seeing that DD989 was the USS Deyo. She was part of the same destroyer squadron I was assigned to for a while...DD 983 USS John Rodgers was my ship..

    Outstanding!!

Let us just say that the Deyo and I are...very old acquaintances from Mogadishu

Heheh, poor sentence structure on my part. Pretty much he bought his DD MK18 because sometimes people in grief can do some irrational things (he covers an orthopedic surgical rotation in his city’s Emergency Room). He also lives in a pretty nice house. Sometimes...bad guys target nice homes.
