    Howdy -

I'm looking for ideas/suggestions on a local firm who can assist with a project at our home here in Frederick.

We have a walk out basement and would like to put a stone/paver patio in as a place to entertain & grill, a fire pit and possibly have integral seating.

The area is roughly 12' x 14' if we stick with a rectangle and could easily be larger to accommodate a grill/firepit with seating. Haven't made a decision on materials yet. Front of house is brick

Also on the project list is a deck off the kitchen. Haven't given design too much consideration yet, but believe we want a synthetic decking board, white vinyl railing to minimize maintenance and don't want the deck to extend too much (if any) past the smaller window in front of the kitchen sink.

Big driver for the projects are our dogs who LOVE to spend time outside - currently, we have to go into the basement to let them in/out of the fenced yard. It would be nice to be able to use the kitchen door instead and with the addition of the patio below - it will help with the amount of mud the puppies try to bring with them into the house.

Close ups of the area at the patio doors - for the stone patio:

Picture taken from the far side of the swale which crosses the yard - had it re-cut and buried the downspouts/sump pump last summer as a way to help control the drainage and resultant mud challenge made worse by the dogs.

Picture capturing the door from the kitchen to the left of the chimney and to give a sense of how the deck should tie in with the patio. Initial idea is to have stairs from the deck land on the turf near the chimney and move directly into the stone of the patio.

This mild winter with no snow removal to do might have had me considering bidding on that, even though Frederick is an hour away, but God has seen fit to give me a permeable driveway in Severna Park and a couple of patio/walkway installations in Gambrills and Crofton to replace my lack of snow removal income. You should not have any trouble finding landscape installers to bid, and get started quick on your project with these weather conditions.
