Marlin will have a Metal Disintegration Machine (MDM) in their shop just for tough screws and bolts. I've seen a machinist with MDM disintegrate a broken off screw in aircraft parts in just a few minutes.

that is amazing . We had EDM machines to cut really hard metals but not MDM

really neat and the first few seconds of the video really gets your attention

Good luck with the rifle. The manufacturer should have the tools to fix it up. I'd bet on a carbide bit to get it out. I've actually done spark erosion on dental appliances making custom keyways. This video is a hoot..

I stopped in Bluefins yesterday to pick up supplies. While there, I inquired how the return went. Marlin authorized a UPS pickup for a company named Mann and Boots for the service. I tried to look them up, and can't seem to find any info with Google search. Anyone heard of them?

    Marlin farms their repair work.

Thinking you may be referring to Mann and Sons in Pinckneyville Ill.

Maybe that's why I couldn't find any info on them:D Jaimie said she thought it was Mann and Boots. Found some info on them on FB. Doesn't look like they have a website. Thanks!
