    Good shooting, good decision making.

Now all those people who say you won't even have to make 25 yard shots?

    Wow

Damn lucky Vic Stacy (citizen) did not get popped himself,
as in mistaken identity by the newly arriving police.

But kudos for taking the shot or three.

Am I crazy to say that I have thought about being a resident in the same situation? Damn right I'd try and do the right thing. I just hope that the officer would realize I'm on his side.

Seriously, I doubt I could hit someone at 165 yards with a rifle with open sights, in an actual, live-fire situation.

That's amazing, was this a scoped hunting revolver or something? He hit the perp from 150 yards away 3 times? There should be awards for that kind of thing.

There was another incident like this quite a few years ago where a Texas DPS Trooper was in a shootout with a guy at a rest area along a highway. Well a guy in the adjacent rest area across the highway saw it and leveled the bad guy with his hunting rifle. He is a hero in DPS lore now.

Why is it so hard to believe that a person can shoot a handgun, accurately, at these kinds of distances?

This year, I will be making my 3rd hunt with my .44 SBH. The farthest that I have taken a deer has been 85 yds.

Now I don't claim to be that good of a shot to consistently make 165 yd shots... But I know several handgunners that are way better than I.

Bravo to Vic Stacy for doing what needed to be done and having the skill to do it!
