Down payment, a pair of H&H and a pair of Purdeys would BUY a very nice new house and furnish it.

Even with the pound down, the 124000 pounds is over $150,000, and before Brexit, it would have been more like $180,000.

I did walk away from the settlement table with cash in hand.

Actually they were left with me, by a really good friend. He told me to keep them as long as I wanted and use them as much as I wanted. I gave them back to him some time later on.
