From the article "A California man who reportedly heads something called the Bowl Patrol and espouses hate for various minority groups has had his guns confiscated by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office via the state’s “red flag” law. In effect, he lost his guns because he’s a racist."

While I find racist and anti-sematic attitudes both stupid and loathsome... how can your personal political opinions and first amendment rights be used to strip you of your second amendment rights? We've officially crossed into a Kurt Schlichter novel.

Hopefully the intelligent members of this forum can see what is right in front of them. The slippery slope where before long, every white male is labeled a thought criminal and potential future threat. “If one New Democratic voters life can be saved”......... This has already happened multiple times starting in Washington state earlier this year. I look forward to hearing the boss come along and quickly chime in.

As far as I know, we (USA) do not have "hate speech" prohibition. European Union have enacted such legislation.
SO FAR, we've been smarter than that - laws should define a bright line between what is lawful and what is unlawful.
Unfortunately, too many folks attempt to enforce "laws against (fill in the blank)...isms". Social norms frown on those "...isms", but not against the law. BTW, where exactly is that line. A important part of tennis is playing the lines. How close to the line can one play the "...isms" game?
Hate Speech, like pornography, is very difficult to define -
To paraphrase an old saying - "I don't know what pornography is, but know it when I see it."

I'd like to see all of the information regarding this case. Sac County Sheriff Scott Jones is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. He's also a strong supporter of concealed carry, and is issued numerous CCW's. La, San Jose , Contra Costa, YOLO, San Diego, Sheriff's offices oh, well that's a whole nother story

While I have serious concerns about the red flag laws, I think there may be more to this one then simple thought crime.

Problem is, the racism gauge is a sliding scale. If you disagree with the leftists, yep, RACIST!. And now if they attach that qualification to red flag laws, all it takes is being a conservative or Trump supporter to be labeled a racist. We hear them all the time claiming we are racist, capitalism is racist, gun owners are racist, etc. Just another tool they will use against patriots.
