My dad passed away recently. Among his stuff are 3 old black powder guns. 2 were made by JW Manton in London. I understand that he was an early high end maker. I can't make out the maker of the third gun, and have not brought it home yet. All have damascus barrels, 2 are "high end" engraved, 1 is less so. Are there a market for these? Might they be safe to shoot? Questions questions...

    Thanks,
    Jesse

Quickly I found they are worth somthing. No way to know how compares with yours , but I quickly found an engraved J.W. Manton listed for $1,500 .

Pick up a copy of Double Gun Journal , and there are lots of dealer who advertise who specialize in Vintage English Doubles.
