    Thanks for reposting that!

    Anderson seems good to me.

6Pack - repost from another thread. I'm thinking about supporting Liz Matory. I don't think she's hardcore 2A but she might be easier to elect in the 8th than Cox.

She is endorsed by Tom Rodriguez - Town Council, Kensington, Former Del. Ron George (district 30) and supported by Susan Krebs (District 5)

What I couldn't find on her site was any position on 2A so I posted on her Facebook page and almost immediately she responded. Here's her response:

    Liz Matory for Congress:
"Hi Jim. It's Liz. Thank you so much for reaching out and for your support! I'm 2A. I do not own guns but learned how to shoot from my brother who is a Marine. I support the second amendment and I apologize for not placing a statement online. It's like a fundamental right so we didn't write a separate issue tab for it. But my stance is that it's one of the 10 articulated amendments formulated by founders and as such should be protected. Though I understand and appreciate folks concerns about gun violence I find that most of the laws and regulations placed (and proposed) on firearms will only place undo burden on law abiding citizens. We need to enforce the laws that are in place. And ensure that law enforcement has the tools it needs to protect the public while not deterring from citizens rights. I do not see urban violence and mass shootings dissipating with any of laws that the left propose. Similar to other liberal policies they do not address underlying issues or solve perpetuating problems. "

Take it for what it's worth.

Well Here we are on the eve of the primary and I thought the DINO movement was all about coordinating votes to primary the incumbent Democrat. We all know who not to vote for but it makes a lot more sense to put all our votes towards the anti-incumbent who has the best chance of wining in a primary.

I am in District 8. Here is my sample ballot. Thoughts?

    President: Bernie Sanders
    US Senator: Donna Edwards
    Representative for Congress: Trone?
    Circuit Court: 3 for 3

    Delegates: Does it really matter?

    Board of Education: Phil Kaufman?

Please, once again consider David M. Anderson - not Trone, Matthews or Raskin.

I'm going to throw out a suggestion for District 8 for Congress.

    David M. Anderson.

This is only based on who I think would benefit from some additional support from us (so no wasted votes on lost causes). Please review the quoted post from before.

    Reposted for those who missed.

Why are so many interested in District 8? Literally 18 candidates!

Since it's my district and the primary is later this month (I know 2018 is the important one), I'd like to outline some of the democratic candidates. But what criteria is best to consider?

David M. Anderson - No 2A comments on website
    Kumar P. Barve - No 2A comments
Dan Bolling - No comments; no website; last minute entry
Ana Sol Gutierrez - No comments
    William Jawando - Anti 2a
Kathleen Matthews - Wife of celebrity, Anti 2A
    Jamie Raskin - Anti 2A
    Joel Rubin - Anti 2A
    David Trone - Anti 2A

Dan Bolling seems to have the worst campaign at this time. All I see is a Linked in page, and he apparently submitted the application on the last possible day. I'm not sure if our support can help this guy.

The rest all have nice websites and Jawando, Matthews, Raskin, Rubin, Trone are all clearly anti-2A.

Anderson, Barve, Bolling, Gutierrez do not comment.

This Washington Post article suggests that Matthews, Raskin and Trone are the front runners.

The republican opposition is available for your review at http://www.politics1.com/md.htm
Upon my review it seems only attorney Dan Cox is the only openly pro-second amendment candidate. Base on that, he's got my vote in November.

So, ultimately the question is, "Who can we put in the general election, in front of Matthews, Raskin, and Trone, to be overcome by Cox in November?"

I really look forward to your comments!

What is the point of voting for Anderson if he doesn't stand a chance of winning? Seems like its Mathews, Raskin or Trone. We definitely know they are all rabid anti 2A but who can the the Republican possibly beat? Raskin is out as an insider, so for me it is between Mathews and Trone.

Mathews has name recognition from her news days, Trone is an unkown. So he seems like the weakest Democrat to run in the election against whoever the Republicans can muster.

Much earlier in the thread, there was evidence given that voter turnout for democrats during the primary is not great. The primary winners, in the example given, only won by a small margin.

This suggests, that a candidate, that isn't as strong and the anti 2A Trone, Matthews, and Raskin, may be able to benefit from organized support.

This candidate, hopefully, would not be as strong as Trone, et al. come November.

I encourage you to read through the thread. Tomorrow is only a dry run of sorts.

I have an earlier post with more information on all District 8 democrats with brief bio information.

    OMG its done.

Bleach! Bleach for my eyes after looking at the ballot. Bleach for my hands having to handle that ballot. Bleach for my mouth for having to say "dem...."

I hope this pays some dividends. I really hate doing this.

No lines today, very quiet. Maybe since the rabid left got their socialist they don't feel they have to come out for the primary.

Kaufman is endorsed by Ike. Not that there really is a great candidate out there anyway... most of them seem like whack-a-doodles.

Don't worry, you get used to it. Today, when they asked me my party affiliation, I spake the D-word, and I didn't even flinch or throw-up in the back of my mouth a little.

Don't hate doing this. Do this with conviction. Do this knowing you damage their ability to gerrymander the districts. Do this knowing you are the monkeywrench in their machine.
