    Me Too...:party29:

The trigger on my STG isnt that bad. It just feels different. I have an FN 2000 and really dont like it that much. Its just too bulky. The Stg is lean and mean. mag changes will also speed up with practice. So far, I'm satisfied and confident that the STG556 was a good upgrade .

When reloading, when you goto grab the mag, let your thumb stick up, and slide your hand around the mag, when you push your hand all the way up, your thumb being vertical will press the mag release, than you just pull the mag out.

Ok, Scar... Since I see no 6.5" suppressed AR57. I must get one now. I since you hate your AR's you can give them to me and I will give them a loving home.

6.5 suppressed AR57.. got one en route. I still like the PS90 SBR better.

As for my AR15s. I'm keeping all of them, I can not fully abandon this platform. As they say" first love never dies". They will join other great guns in the dark corners of the gunsafe. After about a year of firing bullpups extensively, I am starting to understand why the Europeans , Chinese and Israelis have opted for the bullpup design.

The only thing I do not like about most bulpuds is the ejection port (FN and Keltec get a pass here). I switch sholders when shooting around baracades (right side right shoulder, left side left shoulder). I have shot a P90 and a PS90, both are very cool. I have yet to get some trigger time with the FS2000 but I like the design except for the lack of a BHO. The Keltec looks cool too, I just want to see a good track record first...

The Ar still seems to outshine when long range shooting factors in. For me the most fun thing about shooting an Ar is that it's capable of easily mounting higher power optics and shooting very accurately over 300 yrds. Also mags are cheap and plentiful and good triggers are easily available. I cannot ever be happy with a gun with a lousy trigger. Still though I'm very seriously considering the STG. How good is the 1.5 optic?

How about a rifle that is SBR short and still delivers match grade accuracy out of the box? The STG556 delivers.

An STG556 Flat Top/ rail without optics runs about 1250.00 , 1700.00 for the 1.5X optic version. I believe that the E4 version now accepts AR15 mags. Slap in a trigger tamer (www.triggertamer.com) to take care of the trigger issue. Flat top gas piston AR15 run higher ( $1000.00 for Cmmg - $2700 LWRC)

I like the 1.5X optics, it is easy to use with built in BUIS. It is clear with a post( longer range) reticle as an aiming point, encircled by a thick circle for CQB aiming.I have never shot mine pass 120 yards. with good ammo and if I do my part it will group from .75-1.2" at 100 yards.

Additional barrels are also available, 14" sbr, Suppressed with the piston vented into the can, 16" carbine, 20" rifle, 24" DMR and a Heavy BBl with bipod. barrels can be changed out in about 15 seconds without tools. try that with an AR or AK.( Entry type SBR to Countersniper role in about 15 seconds.)

Cleaning them is simple , plus internals dont get dirty. It eats wolf ammo without issues. ( I soak the entire chamber area of the barrel in a glass of solvent. bye bye lacquer/polymer). It also has an adjustable gas system to tweek the action with the ammo being used.

Only drawbacks, Shooting from the right to left is hard, mags are expensive unless you get the A4 version. mag changes are slower compared to the AR15 but up to par with AKs, M1a etc. It doesnt suppress well, as the gas system vents a lot of the noise. ( Most gas piston types do not suppress well, IMHO.. for suppressed applications..you cant beat a standard gas impingement AR)

The AR57's really destroy 5.7 brass, just letting you know, especially during rapid fire, ive seen ones come out of them that look like straight wall cartridges.

There are different techniques used when shooting a bullpup weak hand. It just takes a bit of extra training.

Ive got one with the 1.5 optic, its very nicely made, but the FOV is a little small, but that is to be expected because its about 26mm IIRC. But it is still very quick to pick up targets, and with the ring and post reticle, you can use it pretty quickly, maybe not as quick as a eotech, but its still fairly quick.

    Extra training!?

Getting range time and ammo for regular training is tough enough!

Post pictures, video, or a narative of the techniques because I am curious as to how it is done.

    Thanks,

    PS 90

I agreee with much of what you said about the PS 90. I have been tempted to use my SBR PS 90 for either HD or in the "Go To" bag. The round, size and ergos make it a natural (I love shooting it supressed). But the one thing that always holds me back is the issues with malfunction and clearing drills. My PS 90's have been very reliable, no complaints, but after many rounds I did have extracter sping issues with one (easily replaced). I believe that if you have a malfunction with a HD/SHTF gun you need to be able to back in the fight ASAP. I find is combersome and time consuming with the PS90 no matter how many malifunction drills I practice. I love the PS90. But, if my choice is only 1 gun I will stick with the AR platform.
