    Hi -

I'm a hobby taxidermist who wishes to work upon my craft. My interests lie in taxidermy and skeleton articulation. I am hoping there will be some shooters interested in offering up deceased animals that they otherwise would leave to rot - coyote, fox, opossum, weasel, etc.

Once my skills increase to a good amount I would be happy to offer up taxidermy, skeleton articulation, and tanning. Currently, however, I am primarily searching for animals to work upon.

Feel free to PM if interested. I would be happy to travel a bit to pick up the bodies if need be. I'm located a bit outside of Baltimore, MD.

Go to the introduction forum, and formally introduce yourself.
I’m a trapper, although I have trapped in 2 years. I won’t be doing any this year, but if I get a chance next year, I definitely look you up. I’ve sold a lot of stuff to taxidermist over the years. I’m in the FREDERICK area.
If I’m not mistaken there’s another trapper on here, that I believe is closer to you.
I’m sure they we chime in soon.

If the fox that frequents my property gets any braver with walking around in my back yard I may have one for you. All of the recent snowfall has shown me just how close it gets to my back door.

Also pretty sure I have a coyote too but cannot yet confirm with a sighting.

    Where exactly are you located?

    Oh and welcome.

Lol. Foxes are good to have. They eat mice. My dog is somewhat friendly with the fox and babies behind my house. Not like it's a wolf or yote or something bad.

I will have a bunch of groundhogs at various times throughout the year if OP wants to pick them up. Some will be in better shape than others.

Groundhogs would be absolutely amazing, and I'd be happy taking them in regardless of the shape they're in. Just keep me in mind and PM the info whenever you get some.

If it were just me here I wouldn’t mind it. I have two young kids that are always outside with us. I don’t take chances with wild animals that come that close. Luckily it doesn’t look like it has mange or rabies. Fun to watch it but I don’t want it at my back door either.

A few years back a fox came up on the porch and attacked our dog. Dog was not damaged and I shot the fox. Called the Health Dept and they came and tested the fox. It tested positive for rabies.

Keep them foxes in check if you have many around your place. I'm sure the fox would have attacked the wife if the dog wasn't out there.

Yes that is the situation I do not need. Apparently it is extremely rare for foxes to get rabies but it does happen. The fox I have here does not have a care in the world. It will walk right up the driveway, down through the backyard in broad daylight, and once while sitting in my truck waiting for my daughter at the bus stop it walked right up to my truck with me in it.

When you live in a neighborhood foxes are cute. When you come home to 4 chickens laying dead around the coop and a fox carrying a bird in his mouth as he walks off through the field foxes are vermin to be shot on sight.

They also eat dead animals and do contract rabies from dead raccoons. In AA County, it is illegal to trap and release coons and foxes because of the rabies issue. I don't mind dispatching them if they are rabid, just make sure they are not just molting from their winter coat as they can look pretty bad around then.
