I'm also not a big fan but it's what my 4yo uses and he loves it. I think for $15 you cannot beat it for a child's fishing rod.
Anyone who currently fishes, for them to downgrade I a $15 ugly stick would make no sense. However this is a great Christmas gift idea for anyone trying to get someone into fishing.
