Howdy folks, looking for a place to primitive camp (tent) seaside at the ocean within say, a couple hours drive time of Baltimore.

Don't mind hardship or hard work (ex paddling/hiking/etc.) to get there.

    Any suggestions deeply appreciated!!!!

I always enjoy camping at assateague island, not sure if that's what you're looking for. Right behind the dunes, but mosquitoes are killer (if that bothers you).

I was going to suggest that too. Much better starting in late October once the flies and mosquitos start dropping off. Very nice decemeber-late March.

Cape Henolopen State Park has a nice primitive area in the dunes.

Good Beach plus plenty of activities in the park to keep the kids occupied.

Free Bike Rentals. Kayaks Concession. Fishing Pier. Close to Lewes and Rehobeth.

Their is a camp ground on Rt 1 in DE south of Rehoboth Beach called the Del Seashore State Park. here is a link to the place http://www.destateparks.com/park/delaware-seashore/

Ya i know its in DE instead of MD but you are close to Ocean City, Dewey, Bethany, and Rehoboth Beach.. Gives you more choices in where to go to the beach as well.

My family went there every year for vacation when I was a kid. (Through the 70's & 80's). It was always a good time. The fishing is good in the inlet and the beaches are guarded.
