    I guess he never night fished.
    I was threatened by a crabber with a flare gun 30 years ago . We were water skiing to close to his line. He said he was going to shoot into my boat.
    I just told him to calm down.
    I didn't report him. Sounds like he could have had a few charges on him,
    That's the problem these days, people aren't allowed to blow off a little steam now and then and you get explosive situations like this one. I bet his lawyer will say he had been under a lot of stress lately. I see that a lot now.

    The bow fishing guys with their lit up barges and generators can be pretty obnoxious. I can see why someone on one of the more popular fishing holes could lose it with them. But then, they help to control the snakeheads that eat all the native fish.

    I don't know but I'd imagine getting hit with a flare from a flare gun could cause some pretty serious injuries. Bottom line is as has already been said don't go pointing or shooting anything at anyone unless you are in danger and have absolutely no choice.

    26mm flare guns have significant recoil when fired. I wouldn't want to get shot by one. Would be fatal to say the least.

    You can also get adapters for flare guns to fire shotgun and handgun rounds.
    So just cause it's a "flare gun" doesn't mean it won't blow a hole thru you.
