Went to 2000 14th Stree today and was told the wait time was going to be about five months. They have a 800 permit backup and the brass turned down any overtime as of today.

Not sure why nyou went there, The only place that proesses applications/issues permits is
    MPD HQ
300 Indiana Avenue, NW, Room 5059, Washington , DC 20001
    Phone: (202) 727-9099

Five months sounds like a long time. They claimed about 1000 apps in process in early January, and mid October resident apps took about 14 weeks.

The 14th Street address is the Reeves Bldg. MPD Security Officer Management Branch is there. They are responsible for DC certified CCW instructor licensing and renewals. The OP didn't mention that perhaps he was getting instructor certification, not a CCW.

But yes all regular CCW permits are issued at 300 Indiana Ave. NW.

    MPD HQ.

Over 90 days for me, I'll probably have to take the renewal course before I get the permit.

On the bright side, I can put off purchasing special 10 round tyranny mags for my Glock 19.
