My 686+ has the best trigger of all the guns I own. It’s a great, solid gun.

Nice lookin’ hog leg, but that dang ol’ hillary hole...

Yeah, I might be a broken record on this… But I always encourage someone to try to grab the classic 686, pre-2000 for the history that goes with it.

Even if you drop down to a six shooter, I still think having a more collectible Smith and Wesson is cool

Took my 586 out today for a little fun. I could not agree with you more.

****I took my 586 out today as well and it's absolutely a tack driver. Single, or double action, factory loads. Remarkably nice trigger. Mine is a pre 85' generation.

In many ways, the 586 is easier for me to be accurate out to 25 yards with iron sights than my competition Glock 34. I have a lot more time slinging lead with the Glock, but I can pick up the 586 after months of not shooting it and put up some impressively close groups.

    Great guns.

As far as grips, if you like the wood, I'd get that one. I have both, but more often shoot with the rubber. I love the look of the wood grips, but the rubber grips make this gun a lot more comfortable to shoot. With just the wood, I'm stinging after a few cylinders.

But I say go for the wood grips, as the Hogue rubber grips are very nice, and much cheaper than wood. You can pick them up for around $25. A good set of wood grips will set you back at least three times that.

I went with the 686 plus s/s 6 inch barrel i wanted the talo 150712 but its out of stock so i ordered with rubber Ill try and find the talo grips later. Almost went with the 7 inch and dark wood grips with 357 at bottom of grip but the smooth cylinder doesn't look normal but that's me

I have a 686 SSR Pro Series 4" in Stainless...

It hold 6 rounds & is NOT the + series 7 shooter...

The pistol is solid & is beautifully machined & fitted...

    There have been NO issues...

    I bought in in 2009...

    Hope this is helpful..!
