Here are the state firearm laws and they are public employees to serve them

It is by no means “meaningless” as you say. It’s starting to gain national attention. I’m sure there were people like you in George Washington’s time who said what they were doing was meaningless too. Honest, law abiding, hard working people have had enough of the liberal crap that has been forced down their throats for the past 11+ years. I’m glad to see Virginians take an actual stand and be willing to go to the front lines instead of bowing down and staying on their knees and “compromising” like California, New York, and Maryland did.

I agree. Social media is overflowing with Virginians that are not going to put up with this crap from the Governor.

I believe other than the Maryland Defense Force (Maryland's official militia) they are explicitly banned. So they'll just have to call themselves a bird watching club or something.

Actually the sheriff in the county has the final say on who gets to enter and enforce the laws of his County. If the sheriff wants to remove the state police he has the right to do so. He also has the right to deny entrance to any federal law enforcement agency if he so chooses. That's not to say that the state police or the federal agencies would comply with his orders but that could potentially cause a conflict between the sheriff and his deputies and another law enforcement agency. The elected constitutional Sheriff of any county is the highest law enforcement officer in that county.
