Text of the bill is here.

    highlights:

Ban on manufacture, sale, transfer, import, purchase or posses "assault weapons" or > 10rd mags.

Within 90 days, surrender, destroy, or transfer to a dealer all weapons that qualify.

Current weapons are grandfathered, no new purchase, grandfathered owners must have a background check and re-register (including new background check) every year. An arbitrary registration fee can be charged.

If you inherit "assault weapons", within 90 days they must be transferred to a licensed dealer, destroyed, or surrendered. There is no option to keep them. This is their mechanism to ban by attrition.

Assault weapons are defined as ANY semi-auto center fire rifle that accepts detachable mags. Full stop, no feature tests for semi-auto rifles. Any pistols with one naughty feature on the list (all the ones you are already familiar with). Semi-auto shotguns with > 5rd fixed mag or has pistol/thumbhole grips or can take a detachable mag, etc, etc.

If one of your weapons is stolen and used in a crime, you are civilly liable for the crime unless you report it stolen in the proper time frame.

Police and military are excluded of course...because only...blah blah blah.

I don't think it will go anywhere, but you never know these days. The brownshirts are definitely swinging for the fences.

if everyone didn't see this stuff coming they are either dumb or blind.

Virginia was the template- everyone else in other states is going to grandstand and try to play along to the same tune just to see how far they can get.

Arizona, Kentucky, Georgia, these things are popping up in state folks would never imagine.

I had some guy on you tube the other day preaching how this would never come from California to Arizona LMAO.

Yep...CA libs cant handle the effects of what they voted for so they're moving to AZ and starting the same thing from scratch. Much the same as those escaping MoCo and heading to Frederick County, Howard County and the Baltimorons escaping to Howard and Carroll Counties.

    It's like a creeping plague.

Which is why we should block off bay bridge...contain the insanity to Annapolis and west.

Hard to see something like this passing in Arizona, no? One thing to make a lot of noise, something else to see it come to fruition.

It’s possible. Liberal locusts flee the places they’ve effed up (CA, NY, NJ) and move there or Texas or Florida. Then they support the same policies that have screwed up their previous states of residence. Many are retired and retirees always vote, even after they have passed on.

Absolutely. I have friends and family in AZ and they are saddened by the changes in the last 10 or 15 years.
Transplants are fleeing oppression and now are begging for it.

I thought it was the crippling winter. Ooops.

Yeah, that helped too. Hard to supply armies in the field when the supplies have to go through hundreds of miles of snow. Then there was the endless mud of the spring thaw. Napoleon found out about the Russian winter the hard way also. Even so, the other side is putting their heads out pretty far this time. Guess incrementalism is testing their patience.

pretty disappointing to see this, given that AZ was ranked #1 for gun owners i think last year. hopefully this (and VA etc) is a wake up call for everyone to actually get out and vote.
