We were just cleaning out my grandfathers coin safe and found this little automatic. It’s looks a lot like a Beretta M1934 but I cannot find any significant markings on it other then the serial number. Maybe a clone or knockoff? Any help is appreciated

Looks like a GI had her nickle platted. Is it a .32 or .380?

Maybe a clone indeed. Look at stamp near Beaver tail, does it look like a RE ? That may be Italian Army issue

I was thinking the same thing.....WWII bring back plated. I'm guess the roll marks were call covered in the chroming proces
Thanks guys. The stamp on the beaver tail looks exactly like a worn R and a clear E. My grandfather flew 80 combat missions as a P-61 black widow pilot throughout WII and then was a career officer. I could absolutely see him bringing back something like this. I was thinking it is a 380 acp but haven’t had a chance to properly size it up

With the RE marks it's probably a Beretta model 1934 and if so would be .380 (WWII Italian army).

That serial number shows it's a "blank slide" Beretta M.1934 in 9mm Corto (.380 ACP) that was polished heavily and plated post-war.
So no slide markings to begin with other than the S/N.

Hey, I’ve got one of those. It does look like my 1934 which is also partially chromed.
