    Did anyone in the New Market or Frederick area hear an explosion at about 7:04 pm? Never heard anything like it in the three years we've been here. It brought all the neighbors out looking around so new to them too. A shock trauma help passed over a couple of minutes after but no idea if they were related.

    Where are you located? My parents live near there and heard it also...my father said he felt it. They didnt hear of a helicopter though....

    Reported that the Bomb squad detonated a large pipe bomb. No details beyond that.

    Possible location - 6152 MEADOW RD

    United Fire Company’s ATV unit was dispatched to Meadow Rd in Linganore along with the State Police Bomb team and County Fire Marshall. We are told that a pipe bomb was safely detonated. At this time though, the pipe bomb part is being confirmed and we’ll hopefully have more detail later.
    Official word from Frederick County Frederick County Sheriff's Office, MD:
    ‪We are currently working with the MD State Fire Marshall’s Office who are investigating a suspicious package located in a wooded area off of Meadow Rd in Frederick. The package was rendered safe. As a result, an explosion was heard in the area. There is no danger to the public. ‬

    Wow, thanks for the info. My sons friends were saying the same thing and I figured they were just BS’ing me.

    Scary stuff when you think that some random person probably found the suspicious package.
    Glad no one was hurt.

    That was a serious pipe bomb. I live in Lake Linganore north of the lake and it shook the house. Like ToBeFree said it felt like something slammed into the house.

    Google the address and you’ll see who lives there. Whitepages is always one of the top hits.
