I've never tried this and I know there's plenty of threads/videos. Quick question, do you recommend buying the accompanying frame parts kit?

Well, unless you already have those parts, yup. And definitely do it - you'll quickly see how simple it is. And thereafter, how quickly you'll empty your wallet a few more times on your second, third, and more. Go! While we still can.

I try to buy OEM glock parts whenever I can. Like in AR building, non OEM or mil spec parts can vary in quality. Some are better, some are worse. If you're considering a build kit, read through the reviews.

FWIW...OEM barrels have a serial number.
