Is there a reason you don't want a normal AR-10 with a 10 rnd magazine?

Everybody loves the “ping” sound of an enbloc clip ejecting, but let’s face it; 8 rounds isn’t much to work with by today’s standards. I can convert your Garand to accept M-14 magazines, and rebarrel it for .308 so you get the quality of a GI receiver and the function of a slightly more modern rifle.
Look for the completely MD legal Polytech M14. Built exactly like the M1A with machinery bought from Springfield. Don't ask me why it's legal and the M1A isn't.

The Polytech is legal in Maryland because the parts don't interchange with an M14, thus it's not a "copy."
But the OP lives in D.C. for some odd reason.

Ive heard good and bad and the finish is usually terrible but its about all we can have. The receivers were strong steel.
I'll let you shoot mine and you won't notice the difference between the 2.
Aren't at least some of the Chinese made M14 rifles made with different threading than US made example?
