just listening to scanner because unrelated sirens for a fire. FCSD as active shooter or shooters in FSK mall. Deputy said several injured and several deceased... Hope it's a drill but I don't know. Just saying what I heard w own 2 ears

Scanner quiet. Man I hope it's training post open hours on a sunday.

One dep ha said man w long gun saying anti American words was in Barnes and Noble. He then went into main part of mall from bookstore

I'm listening on an actual digital scanner locally. I think u can get FCSD on radioreference . Com. Gotta say pretty quiet now. Hopefully training

We were running a drill years ago for in service training using volunteer civilians as bad guys, bystanders. One guy had his radio on the dispatch freq instead of the training freq.

He made a simulated stop and frisk after a volunteer victim said she was assaulted. When he ran the volunteer assailant, ( used his real name and id), the dispatcher came back with a open warrant and he had to arrest the guy.

Ok, back to the serious stuff.

Fyi, mall is on unincorporated county land. Fred city PD adjacent. They are lending assistance and on FCSD radios. Normally FCPD is encrypted. Aa Frederick City policeman just asked for and recd permission to enter mall w his squad.
