Since this is the Air Gun subforum, and the OP's screen name might indicate an affinity for air rifles, is this thread about air rifles or firearms ?

I have an air stripper with four baffles on my Crosman Pmod .22 and it doesn't hurt the accuracy at all. It does keep it very quiet though. :innocent0

Air "stripper" with baffles? Maybe you mean "shroud"?

To AW - not sure if a MB does anything at all for any of my air rifles. I would think maybe it could help (or hurt) with the harmonics of the barrel. I think some guys put them on break barrel springers just to use as a cocking aid.

I meant particularly for the Texan, BigTinBoat. With everything I've seen from big bore rifles, air and firearms, I'm thinking about a clamp-on from Witt Machine as pictured here

It is shrouded but is a complete unit that screws on to the existing Prod shroud.

Don't think that would have any effect on your Texan accuracy at all

Gotcha - an LDC I had one of those on my 1720T, which is basically a single shot PRod in .177

The accuracy is what it is when I get to the range. I'm thinking more about pushing that massive air burst to the sides hopefully to alleviate some of that recoil. I don't have a lot of experience with airms or arms but that thing is definitely is the most voracious thing I ever shot!

Oh, thought you were talking about barrel harmonics. When I google the pic it appears that recoil reduction is what that is designed to do, so in that respect I think it would help.

As far as me shooting and watching big bore rifles, including the likes of some .50 cals and others, to me, it feels like it shoots as hard as those rifles do. The butt pad provided with it is pitiful so I purchased the one with the integral monopod instead of trying hold that thing to fire it. I was so impressed with the Barretts and the other rifles not to mention the fact it was about $15k less in price that I had to have one. And when I read "The world's most powerful production air rifle", that's all I needed to hear!!! And everyone else's muzzle brakes are all >$150. Witt will make one to specs for $89.

So after I get that all done, then I'll add some more elevation to it for the really long shots! Then, maybe I'll try it with helium. We'll just have to wait & see!!! But the pic below is my goal - you get the general idea, I'm sure! :innocent0
