Since I've had addition to my humble C&R, I thought would up my photo records, here is the C&R Collection:
    IMG_0764_zpsjiaqexhz.jpg

    From Left to Right:
    1942 MN 91-30 Laminate
    1941 Finnish M39
    1943 Enfield No 4 Mk 1
    1943 Remington 1903a3
    1924 Swiss K-11 Carbine
    Yugo 24/47 (with scout-type scope)
    1959 Sino-Soviet Type 56 SKS
    1953 Polish M44 Carbine (A.K.A. - Flame Thrower)
    1934 Austrian Steyr M95 Carbine (A.k.A. - The A** Kicker)

And just for the heck of it - with bayonets!
(Yes some of those bayonets are repo's - don't care)

    Sweet!
Is an M1 carbine now considered an assault rifle out there?

In this state (CA) not yet - give them time, they will. :sad20:
FYI -Our Lieutenant Governor (Gavin Newsom) wants to put on the ballot in 2016: background checks for ammo sales!
(I need to move a "free-state" - not many of them left in this country :( )

I just wish I had started collecting C&R guns much-much earlier than I did.

I started about 4 years ago - when Mosin's were still under $100!

You need an SMLE, with appropriately dated bayonet of course. :)

You are off to an excellent start.

    But where is your Garand?

See txt at the bottom of the 2nd picture:

    It's going to be a (hopefully) a 2016 purchase.

I had started to set money aside for one but the SKS came along and it was so good that I couldn't pass it up.
(Plus the scope, rings and rail for the Yugo and oh yea a bunch of ammo for the SKS)

Very nice collection, sir. I too prefer the my rifles old and functional, and really need to get an updated family photo for them. May just do that tomorrow while I have the time while I am cleaning. As for repro vs. original, idc so long as it looks nice and is fully functional (and as long as it's not passed as real).

In case you are interested, these are the repro bayonets:

    Finnish M39
    Enfield No 4 Mk 1

Don't move to Maryland because it certainly isn't "The Free State".

They did exactly that in NY.

I was talking to some NY hunters this weekend. The only problem is the feds won't do it and the state isn't actually geared up to do it nor create a database of ammo sales; so they aren't enforcing that part of the law.

If you have a Weatherby and want to buy ammo from out of state, no one will sell it to you, they won't even ship it to your FFL.

Hunter safety courses have been cut in half.
