....and my sister, niece and nephews. All shoot the 50 cal with the brake except my nephew shoots it suppressed. Knocks the crap out of him. Ha. They don’t have a 243 or 7-08. Certainly no credemore! There are some ought sixes and 308s though. My sister is only person I know that actually detained a federal officer for questioning. He was in the wrong place and (we)thought he was up to something bad.
Or M1917. Not a lot of soy bois at Belleau Wood.
Nope, they shoot one of these.

6.5CM is what it is for the moment, marketing, new and improved, made money as the early adopters paid.
1903's , M1 Garands. M1A's the old Devine ones...308's, 30.06, 300WM,
338LM, 50 BMG. So I guess I'm kool also 700-243. or 700- 244/6mm
but will take the Rem 40X in triple duece anyday.. that's "kool"

As I see it, most of the hate comes from people who have been shooting .308 for years, especially ones that shoot long range. They have invested a lot of time and money in the 308. Then comes a new cartridge, that’s doing everything just as good or better.
Years ago I remember the stories I heard from people in my grandfather’s generation, saying the same thing about when 308 came out. Some from that generation hated .308, as it was beating there beloved 30-06, at long range shooting.

I don't hate the 6.5 CM, I just don't get the 7mm-08 for small people stereotype. If I already did not have a 243 I might be interested in a 6.5 CM.
