    D32 fell into a hole.

Absolutely none of what we thought would happen did, and the margins seem inconceivable, with what was known on the ground.
I think you'll see that in the heavily blue states like MD, NY, etc that the turnout was high among registered Democrats because of anti Trump sentiment. This translated into Democrats like Senator Menendez in NJ doing even better than expected, and locally politicians like Ron Young getting a larger victory than in past elections. The numbers were run up in heavily blue states.

It's possible that this disparity was in purple states too, but Trump might have offset it with his decision to fight the Democrats on the Kavanaugh smearing. Can you imagine if there was a different Republican President and he withdrew the Kavanaugh nomination? The nationwide blue wave would really have been crushing in that circumstance.

    They lost seats.

Baltimore Sun is reporting GOP gained 2 seats in the MD State Senate, lost some seats in the House.

So no redistricting for lawn chair Larry plus he has to do what the dems tell him every session!

    So nothing has changed

I weep for the 2a and I weep for the next four session

What will be at the top of the dems wish list for dismantling the 2a this session? The next 4? How many happy smiling pics will Larry have with the mda bunch?

Dems just dream up whatever you want and lawn chair Larry will sign it

It looks like my county (Queen Anne) had a clean sweep of red.

Maybe the red counties need to push harder for a new state.

What I REALLY wish would happen would be for (a) Supreme Court case/s (Reynolds v. Sims and/or Baker v. Carr) to be revisited and for each of the State Senates to be divided by either region or County! This would give greater autonomy to the rural areas!
