Just got back from a work night for D32/North County candidates, and the news from the trenches is encouraging.

Contributions, volunteer action and candidate exposure are all high.

I just hope other areas are working as hard with their local candidates to make the needed changes in the General Assembly.

Also, I get incessant mailers from all sides, as I'm a registered D, but make contributions to Rs. The hit pieces and mud-slinging ads are only coming from the Ds, and the consensus is that they are feeling the hurt.

Is anyone else seeing a shift from a D focus to R in their areas??

How well are they funded compared to their opponents?

And let's not forget judges up for continuance in office ... Matthew Fader, as assistant AG, led the legal team for the defense of Maryland's "assault weapons ban". Let's ban him from continuance in office.

Thanks' for pointing that out, he's on my Ballot as well.

Anybody know anything about 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Joseph Getty

or Court of Special Appeals at Large Judge Donald Beachley?

I really don't know any details, but I do know that there is more county and state party support this time than in 2014, but also that private donations are up.

There is a real feeling of change in the area. I'm just wondering if it's in other areas, too.

That's good to know! Could that same momentum carry on into D. 30 - especially 30A?

I think this could be a good year for Republicans in MD. A safe Democratic Senate seat + a non-competitive governor's race could keep people away from the polls.

I def think that the Democrats are having buyer's remorse over Ben Jealous. The only people he's exciting are the openly socialist/communist wing of the party and he seems to be plagued by missteps like saying he's running for Governor of VA or going to campaign for Governor of MD in California.

We cannot AND MUST NOT underestimate our opposition! There are MANY other races to consider and we need to be there for those people! Submit post cards to people whom you know, talk to people and GET THE VOTE OUT ANY WAY YOU CAN!!!!!! I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you like what I've wrote in my initial entry here, you have my permission to share it with whomever you wish!

I haven't heard anything directly about 30A or B. One question... Has Busch started going negative? That could be a 'tell'.

In any case, the early belief was that Busch is even more vulnerable this cycle than last. Whether the Rs ground game is up to it, I couldn't tell you, but I certainly hope so.

Busch nearly lost his seat last time. Now he needs to lose his shirt.

Steve Schuh's and/or Nic Kipke's campaigns may be able to shed more light on it.

Dist.29 still a Deb Rey hater think not ! If you are not paying attention... The debate between Deb Rey and Brian Crosby was pretty interesting this week. We learned that Brian Crosby wants to do two significant things on the Second Amendment front...

    1) He wants to have a mental health screenings where you have to go be evaluated by someone as part of the gun purchasing process.

    2) He wants to limit round capacities to five rounds - effectively banning most guns including many revolvers.

    That is all...

I have 7 choices for Circuit Court judges, but I know nothing about any of them.

Bonifant, Cho, Cummins, Dwyer, Hessler, Lease and Schweitzer.

    Anyone have info?

That's what I was afraid of; HE'S GOTTA GO!!!!!!! Deb won that race last time by less than 100 votes so we need to be there for her!!!! I've updated my initial entry to reflect that; THANK YOU!

I haven't been keeping my ear to the wall with all of what's going on over there. I was told by one AA Co. Delegate whose identity I'd prefer not to disclose that he is questioning whether either Bob O'Shea and/or Chelsea Gill are up to the task of taking out whom I call the 'two stooges' (Busch and Alice Cain)! Said individual was also revealing that he probably has his work cut out for him and his team this time around; more so than in times past!

FTR I would not call a 2,200 or so margin of victory as insignificant for a delegate race! Here are the results form the '14 Election in 30A:

I heard Deb is short on cash. I made a contribution to her last week.

Edit: After looking through her campaign contributions, I saw that some of my friends have donated more. I felt shamed. So I donated again.

Such info is always valuable. Folks seldom know a judge’s record and expected to vote blindly.

After checking my sample ballot, he's on the list in PG Co, too!

He sits on the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, which covers the entire state of Maryland, so everyone gets to vote for/against him for him to retain his post on the court.

For those that do not know, The Court of Special Appeals is Maryland’s intermediate appellate court. Created in 1966, unless otherwise provided by law, it considers any reviewable judgment, decree, order, or other action of the circuit and orphans’ courts. Judges sitting on the Court of Special Appeals generally hear and decide cases in panels of three. In some instances, however, all 15 judges sit en banc to hear the case.

Anyone in AACo D32 and 31a are on the verge of sweeping the districts. They could use your donations. So close to getting rid of Beidle, Chang and Carey. This is 4 of the necessary house seats and 1 of the Senate. 31 is close to getting a Senate seat also.

Don't forget Council and school board. Much less 2a affect than the others, but still important.

    In AACo vote for:

    Council - Burns(1), Gardner(2), Volke(3), Snow(4), Fiedler(5), Christman(6), and Haire(7)

    School board - Starr(1), Ellis(4), Gilleland(5), and Corkadel(7)
