I had a few old auto levels with broken compensators sitting around and got to thinking about the waste of good optical glass they were because of the broken compensator. So I took one of the 30 power ones to the range with me and it worked out pretty well at 50 yds. I didn't try it at 100yrs yet, but it should be fine. I love to repurpose things like that. Good Nikon optics with a new purpose in life. Since the compensator is broken, it adjusts up and down and left and right without interference from the compensator trying to correct for level.
