Guys, I started a project to form some 50/90 brass into 43 Beaumont. I'm good to go except finding a case trimmer that is wide enough. I have the Lee trimmer. Does anyone know if Lyman, RCBS, or other trimmers are a hair larger?

For info I bought the 4D die set (pretty expensive but have the price of the RCBS set). I cut the brass down with a dremmel than lubed the crud out it and sized it. no problems. The hard part was trimming it down to correct length afterwards because my trimmer is to small.

Let me know if you have thoughts.

    Eric

Well, I answered my own question...after some searching last night I found that Lee makes a Large size case trimmer...

Midway has them cheap so I will get one. Have to modify it like I did the standard one. I tapped a hole in the bottom and got a screw of same thread from the hardware store...cut the head from the bolt and good to go. Here are some photos of my current setup...I made modifications to the RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center. So, with the Lee case trimmer and the appropriate case length gauge it makes the work easy.

sure makes case prep easy

43 Beaumont sounds like a car a pimp would drive.

Ha. Nope, not this beauty. 1877 Dutch Beaumont chambered in 11x52R. Formed a handful of brass last night...gonna cast some bullets tonight...hope to shoot it next weekend.

Anyone else out there have one of these? I plan to use IMR 4198 (given thats the only reference I can find for it from my cartridge conversion book).

    Eric,
I know nothing about the rifle. Googling it turned up a few pics and discussions. It's definitely unusual and sounds like an interesting project.

Please post some pics of yours.

WILCO. Have it taken apart at the moment to clean her up. Good looking inside and out. I do have a minor crack in the stock that I need to figure out. Will jet some photos soon.

OP, have you considered using a table-top drillpress, along with the Lyman drillpress kit?????

Years ago, I set this up for trimming .223/5.56x45mm. Fast.

I left the drillpress set up for trimming that brass, only.

I had fashioned a 'foot pedal' system for it, but wound up taking that off and selling it to a friend, and took the good Jacobs chuck off of the drillpress to use on another.

I know the YouTuber gunnut357mag has information on this. You probably need to DM him since YouTube was striking his channel for his immense number of reloading videos.
