Those are some really nice looking grips!
Thanks! Those are engraved on a set of Hogue ebony grips and they fit awesome. I've been making these every once in a while for people. The skull looks awesome on some ivory grips too

Thanks, man. My first SA in many years.
And my first 1911 in 45 ACP. I've been wanting one ever since shooting StantonCree's a few years back, and you certainly haven't helped dissuade me.
I think black & white snaps get close to doing justice to the finish - an all stainless pistol with black ion bonded rounded surfaces and polished flat surfaces.
Thanks. Really has an industrial look in person, as if it should be slathered in motor oil. That Combat Elite is awesome!

A few more of the Colt Combat Elite, some with a Colt Competition in 9mm.

I've been really happy with it. Initially, maybe the first couple hundred rounds, it had a few stovepipes. I'm guessing this was a break-in period. I've stuck with 115gr and 124gr RN ammo and not had any issues more than a 1000 rounds later. Just smooth operation using the factory mags, Wilson Combat mags, or TRP mags. Mine is a Series 80. Not sure if they're available anymore or Colt just sells the Series 70 for the 9mm Competition models.Man I want one of those competition models in 9mm something terrible. How do you like it? For my tastes it is set up perfectly from the factory. Love that it already has a fiber optic front.

It is my most accurate semiautomatic pistol. It's very easy to hit what I'm aiming at. My Sig P226 SAO Legion and a couple of my Walther PPQs come close, but the Colt Competition is money. Being a 1911 with tighter tolerances, it will require attention to cleaning every thousand rounds or so.
Maybe I'll get to this level with the Combat Elite after a few range sessions. Zzzzz_man was dialed in with it the first time I took it out (wasn't bad for me, but I shot a tighter group with his TRP - reminiscent of his CZ Shadow Orange in how easy it was to hit point of aim).
What a couple of nice 1911s. I really like the contrast of the Combat Elite!
Thanks for taking my out of it.

We have a whole bunch of Kimber on the wayI've been rummaging through this thread trying to decide what 1911 I'm gonna get. Keep em' coming!
Got this 1925 Colt Government 1911 from Atlantic Guns. It has been re-blued, but everything appears "correct" with the added bonus of having matching frame and slide serial numbers. Whoever did the re-blue was an artist. Someone made an attempt to make it look like the day it left the factory.
