WTB: Compound bow for beginner

That beginner being me, ISO a "starter" bow for archery target practice. Getting some hands-on instruction at my IWLA chapter this summer and loving it, I want to get a decent but not top-end bow to learn on.

From the models I've tried, a fairly traditionally styled compound bow with a draw weight adjustable from about 25-40/50 pounds and about a 29" draw length seems to be what I need at this point. I'm looking for something on the long side OAL, for more target accuracy vs. compact size for hunting.

Other than that, I don't know enough to be picky about brands or specific details. Just looking to see if an MDSer has a bow gathering dust that I could get some learnin' out of!

v/r,

WTB: Compound bow for beginner

I have a Matthews LX right hand bow with two different cams. It is set to a 30" draw but the cam has 29.5 as well. I also have a 28" cam for it. It is set to go with a prong rest, stabilizer, detachable quiver and sight, peep, and limb savers. I have a case I can throw in with it too.

I live in Kingsville, not sure where you are but you can come up and shoot it in the yard and see if it is a good fit. I used this bow for years and only got a new one because my dad can no longer pull his back and now uses a X-Bow.
