I have a 1936 P08 Luger. Recently fired it (probably for the first time since 1944). Fired 50 rounds Remington 115 grain FMJ in it. Original magazine. With one exception the second round jammed with each magazine. Once cleared the other rounds fired flawlessly. First rounds also fired perfectly. Great gun except for that issue. What ammo should I try next? 124 grain? Or would a modern magazine be the solution? I’ve heard the old Lugers require more powerful ammo but want to be careful with such an old gun that is otherwise in good shape.

Wolf 115 grain steel cased. It's about the closest thing there is to what existed when they were built.

A lot of guys do but sometimes, it's too weak. Remington is notoriously unreliable in these pistols.

Are you shooting round nosed 9mm? Last time i shot one i used flat nosed ball ammo and that had trouble feeding.

    Hey Wayne,
Good to see you here! I wish we had thought to run some of my WInchester White Box ammo through your P08. Next time around I’ll bring a few different manufacturers ammo, but I don’t think I have much if any 124 grain ammo on hand. Let me know when you want to head back to AGC.

Mine eats whatever 9mm I put through it. Mostly 115gr Winchester or Remington bulk stuff. I'd suggest trying another mag like the others said.

Go down to your local Wallymart and pick up a 150 rnd Value Pack of the Winchester White Box 9mm NATO ammo. Should run about $28.

This is "over run" from military ammo contracts. High quality and a bit more zing than the 200 rnd "9 mm Luger" value packs that run $36
