PSA has a couple of deals I'm considering. One is an M4 profile, while the other is an A2.

Not sure of the benefits or short-comings of either (or the real difference between, for that matter). Advice would be appreciated.

M4 profile just means it has the notch in the barrel in front of the sight post. This is where an M203 grenade launcher would attach.

If they're both 16", get the M4 profile over the faux-A2 simply because that extra step in front of the front sight post looks scarier. It also weighs slightly less, which should make your gun more evil according to MD.

    MD.
I have both a modified A2 profile 16 inch PSA dissipator barreled upper and a 14.5 inch M4A1 PSA barreled upper.

Technically an A2 would have a fixed carry handle. A4 or M4 would be flat top with rail.
