Just got this today! It is my first Finn Mosin. Am very happy with it. It came with a partial arsenal tag, and it looks to be in great shape. Most bluing is gone off of the exposed areas, but the bore looks great, and there is no rust or any other damage I could see after taking it all apart. I checked the muzzle with a round and it is definitely not counterbored :). The rifle definitely has character, and don't plan to clean the stock too much. Can't wait to shoot it next to my M91/30 Tula 1934. Here are some pics, with the obligatory foot:

I like it! ...and now I'm thinking I might need to put another Mosin in the safe, I don't have a Finn.

I don't know if there is such a thing as a counterbored M39, has anyone here ever seen one?

When the Finn armourers refurbed their M/39 rifles they graded the bores 0 thru 3.
0 being the best or new and anything worse than 3 was replaced.
If you look at a Finn M/39 hang tag the bore condition is marked as "Syopaste"

VTX - was there a specific location for the bore grading stamp? I've looked all over mine, except to remove the barrel from the stock, and have not found a 0 thru 3 stamp.
