I just asked for a nice one. I didn't specify matching nums, good stock or anything.

Another successful user of the IV8888 method, on a few different rifles. He gets a lot of undeserved hate, IMO.

I'll try the scrubby method next time, will be easier to clean once you're done. That compound can be a pain to get out.

 Yeah, I usually just try and swab it all the compound out or push it out via patches.

I've always had great luck with SOG but never tried asking for specifics in the comments. I will definitely give that a shot next time.

Let us know she shoots

After scrubbing the chamber yesterday, I tested the gun again today. It's better, I only have to whack the bolt handle with my palm, instead of a 2x4. Do these scratches look like they're from the extractor, or maybe burrs in the chamber? Or maybe it just needs some serious shooting to wake back up out of retirement.

I really can't see the cases at all.

Looks like chamber to me; I would work on that chamber some more.

Those pics are how it came out of the box, Cosmo and all. It will look sharp when I get it cleaned up. SOG did me right on this one! It's ashame the bolt doesn't match though, because the gun is so nice overall.
