Thought I’d share a new acquisition, this one checks another box off the WWII German pistol bucket list. Brought it home from the Nation’s Gun Show in Chantilly this weekend...Spanish made Astra model 900 pistol that was part of German Wehrmacht procurement during WWII. With only 1,050 purchased, it’s one of the toughest German pistols of the war to track down. These did not receive German waffenamts and are identifiable based on a known serial number range. The group of pistols was delivered to German Army Headquarters in Hendaye, France on March 23,1943. This particular pistol was made in 1941 based on the Spanish date code of “M” on the left side of the frame and it falls towards the end of the known contract serial range. Wasn’t cheap, but thanks to some trade credit from a bargain-find German Contract Astra 400 at the last Chantilly gun show I was able to make it happen. Super happy to have one as they don’t turn up all that often.

    Awesome!
So that's why it's marked sold on the website :)
I drooled over it when it first came up but couldn't figure out a way to swing it right now... Glad it found a good home.

Figured you may have known where this one came from!

I’ve sold off a handful of rifles the past few months in anticipation of a move/downsize this coming year, so had some funds burning a hole in my pocket. I had been eyeing the German marked “Kongsberg” Colt that Legacy had listed (pretty much my WWII German holy grail)...only to refresh the listing the other day to see it had sold. This one was next on my list so I wasn’t letting it get away!

Watched one of these sell this weekend in a live/online auction for substantial coin as it's also on my short bucket list. Officially jealous but also smart enough to know this was anything but cheap and crazy hard to find German issue. With all the badly pitted ex-Chinese warlord examples out there it's nice to see one in excellent condition. Congratulations!
