CAI might pay 220 a pop for them (IF this ever happens) , but no way in hell, even if they are as bad as I'm guessing they are, will they be sold for less than 400-500.

    "cuz it's a Garand"

My dad has an old Korean import (Blue Sky), forget when it was imported, I'm guessing in the early 80s?

It's pitted and refinished, pretty rough bore, but it shoots fine.

Anything that might come in at this point will probably be even worse. I doubt they have taken care of them very well.

Believe the referenced Executive Order ban is still in effect....

Yes, it is, and it was specifically written with the spectre of hundreds of thousands of these rifles hitting our shores. Because, we all know, the M1 Garand is the firearm of choice among bloods, crips, and MS13.

    It's for the children.

And, as others have noted, these guns are apparently in about the same great condition as Sarco's Argentine .45s (read: NOT!).

Yessir! Nothing like a nine pound rifle that only shoots surplus ammo riding shotgun in a Honda Civic.

If you read the entire article the following note appears at the end:

"Update 27-4-2015, this appears to be a story from 2012 and the import has been blocked by the Obama administration. Sorry folks!"
