Going to Gatlinburg, TN soon for vacation and may have the opportunity to do a little deer hunting. Anybody hunt North Cherokee WMA, Foothills WMA, or Forks of the Lake WMA? If so, were you successful? How would you characterize the quality of the hunting? I've hunted public land in MD during archery season so have become accustomed to some of the compromises you get with any public hunting.
Also wondering if centerfire rifles are OK for public lands. My read of state information indicates they are but if someone else has info would much appreciate.
