He's associating with the Bush Mafia and we don't need THAT in our White House.:party29:

The key to understanding why Larry The Hutt is only a member of the Hogan Party is what he himself recalls about his father’s experience:

Hogan used his inaugural address on Wednesday to repudiate the “debilitating politics” of Washington — and to raise the specter of impeachment. He recalled how his father, former Rep. Lawrence Hogan, was the first Republican congressman to support the removal of Richard Nixon.

When Hogan Sr. called for Nixon’s ouster, he became persona non grata and the Republican Party chopped him down to size—an experience Larry the Hutt never forgot. Larry remains bitter about the Republican Party to this day.

It’s why he wrote his father’s name on the ballot instead of Trump—and said so publicly.

    He’s a Republican....until he AIN’T...

This is just his chance to raise cash in his retirement, eh campaign fund.

True story. I used to wait tables in Annapolis at a nice restaurant. Right after Larry's election in 2014, he came in and ate with Ehrlich and their wives.

Larry's wife straight up cannot speak English. But more interestingly, Ehrich's wife spent half the meal excitedly explaining to the Hogans how they can rip off the taxpayers by keeping the furniture in the gov's mansion. She was just shamelessly prattling on about this at full volume. A few months later, Larry decides to blast O-Malley over the exact same scam.

Just more evidence that all these politicians are corrupt. I would be a little surprised to see Larry involve himself in a similar two-bit scam given his alleged independent wealth.

Larry is too much like a democrat for many republicans and not far enough left for the liberal base. He stands as much chance of getting the nomination as Owe Malley did.

2020 is going to be interesting if the RNC allows a primary challenger to Trump. Whoever it is better not be a career politicians, better be as anti DC Swamp as Trump is and better be MAGA...Patriots have had a taste of what an outsider can do and many of them sure as hell don't want to return to the status quo. Sure Trump is hardly perfect but the economy is on a roll, jobs are returning and taxes have been lowered...He's trying to protect us and save the nation from the onset of liberal socialism..If a challenger doesn't look and sound a lot like that they are DOA..

I can't imagine he could have any success. His anti-gun positions will alienate a motivated part of the Republican base if he runs as an R. And if he swaps to the DNC he is a straight white dude which seems like a big problem. Even if he overcame that his opponents in the party would have a field day with him formerly having an R next to his name. At the same time as Trump even!

If the Stupid Party goes back to their winning strategy of running Mc Romney style candidates, he'll fit right in.

You know, the one where they run a guy who's just a clone of the Evil Party candidate as far as positions.

Trump is vulnerable to a primary challenge, but not from his left. The GOP Establishment hasn't figured out that the Good Little Loser-Boys are dead, dead, dead politically. Trump loses to someone who can pick up Trump's platform and credibly promise to deliver more of it than Trump can. Which is do-able, Trump has a bunch of annoying habits and lacks the detailed knowledge of both the bureaucracy and of policy that is really needed.

Hogan? He needs to lay off the recreational drugs. A Senate run in MD is do-able, and he probably needs to focus on that.

    Pull up a lawnchair....

Lawnchair Larry is giving his 2019 State of State speech at noon on Wednesday.

Wanna bet the speech is engineered with generalized campaign applause-lines and zingers, which would be odd for a politician who is MD term=limited...

    Except Larry has Big Dreams...

Hogan is also on PBS tonight ...

As he weighs a challenge to Trump, Larry Hogan says he offers a ‘model’ of bipartisanship. That’s only partly true.

After eschewing national television appearances in his first term, Hogan is participating in a PBS “NewsHour” panel discussion Monday evening with New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) and Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D).

The event, titled “Divided Nation, United States: Navigating Today’s Partisan Waters,” will air live online, starting at 7 p.m.
