A proud addition from this week, a late production model 1907 in 32 caliber from 1920 with the original Savage mother of pearl grips featuring the Indian Head medallions. I have a letter on order for this one, I did some preliminary research back in July this past year on this piece, it was a salesman's sample, apparently remained with a salesman for five years until it was sent back to Savage for some work there was a reference of a work order but unfortunately no great detail. the primary where on this gun is edgware from handling, the case hardening on the trigger still looks good showing good color. Once I have the letter I'll post it.

    Very slick...
When I read the title I wondered how they would attach those grips; had to go against the "no screws" theme :)

They had to make an exception on the model 1907 regarding the Pearl grips, they had to drill the frame and attach each panel with a single screw. The model 1915 which is the rarest model with the shrouded hammer sometimes referred to as the hammerless model remained screwless, the 1917 model with the art deco looking shaped grips also use screws.

Thank you I feel lucky to have added it to my collection, it's the only pearl handled Savage I own. The quantities of them produced was very low.

I missed a really nice high polish blue 1915 in 380 with pearl grips original box and paperwork about a year ago GunBroker, starting bid was like $2,800, it didn't sell the first couple of weeks he lowered the price to 2,700.00 starting bid. I was about to put a bid own it and he stopped the auction I contacted him and he said he had a walk-in customer purchase it. that pistol had a couple of really good things going for it number one it was a rare 1915 model in 380 caliber and it had the original box and paperwork it was worth the minimum bid for sure. I did capture some of the pictures from that posting.
